65. The Seeker: The Dark is Rising
One of the many fantasy novels with kids optioned in the wake of the success of Harry Potter. Weak writing for the most part, but strong performances (ok, a little hammy) from Christopher Eccleston and Ian McShane. C+
Since it confused me, I’ll share that the movie is an adaptation of the book The Dark Is Rising from the series The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper. There is also another TV series called Legend of the Seeker, which is an adaptation of Terry Goodkind’s series The Sword of Truth (it’s pretty good so far).

Late to the party, but a great movie with great perfomances. If only Bale was as good as Ledger. A-

Funny? Check. Raunchy? Check. Thank you very much, Mr. Smith – it was just what I expected. B+
