Douglas Adams
Possibly the rarest Douglas Adams collectible is up for auction here.
Stolen from MJ Simpson’s news page (MJ Simpson wrote the definitive Douglas Adams biography).
The reason I was surfing is filming has begun on the feature film of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, great news for us HHGG geeks (yes, I’m talking to you Chris).
Second coming delayed ’til June
“Monty Python’s Life of Brian” won’t be here until June 4th. It’ll be playing at the E Street Cinema.
Of course that’s the weekend of the Herndon Festival (with good lineups Friday and Saturday), so I won’t see it until June 6th at the earliest.
Insert Homer slobber here
Where was this when I was 7?
In a related story, here’a a link to Stormtrooper Pet Peeves.
If you couldn’t tell, I checked out the “marathon” of all 20 episodes of Star Wars:Clone Wars, the 3 minute cartoons on Cartoon Network Saturday. I thought it would be my only chance to catch them all; little did I know they’re archived here.
Last week’s new release
Because I forgot last week, and there isn’t anything interesting this week:
It’s School of Rock (Widescreen Edition), starring Jack Black. Jack finally lives up to the promise of “High Fidelity”, in one of my favorite movies of last year. Lots of great in jokes for the music geeks, but still funny enough to be a mainstream comedy.
New DVDs
A must buy, the best season they’ve done (although the last two eps have been good, especially the 100th).
Not sure about this, waiting to hear if it’s good or not. Getting all the original voices is good, but Disney has not had the best track record with direct-to-video sequels.
Missed this one from last week. New version in widescreen anamorphic with 5.1.
New releases – movies
Alice in Wonderland (Masterpiece Edition), the Disney classic.
Dilbert – The Complete Series, great series. “Office Space” is a live action Dilbert, and the cartoons aren’t quite up to it’s level, but I can’t read the strip without hearing the voices from this ‘toon. I like this much better than “The Office”.
Time Bandits (Divimax Special Edition), a classic remastered. Features a fold-out map of the universe!
New releases
Not too many good things to buy this week; just Sarah McLachlan – VH1 Storytellers and Underworld (and I’m not buying anything this month; weddings are frickin’ expensive).
