Groovy Feeling

Today I took a long lunch and went down to the Borders on L Street to see The Feeling. They’re a British band, huge over there, and pretty good – check out their myspace page for tunes.

I got turned onto them from the Lefsetz Letter, Bob Lefsetz’s cranky blog about music and the industry. I got their CD when it came out, but had decided against going to see them tonight at the 9:30 Club, partly because it’s a Monday and partly because they would only play about 5 songs since they were the opener on a triple bill. So the lunchtime show was a treat, much easier to go somewhere on the Metro and back if I don’t have to change trains.

Rockin’ the Borders

My favorite thing was noticing that the drummer was hitting his plastic cowbell with a paintbrush. I asked him about it afterwards, and he said if he didn’t have it, the show couldn’t go on. Fun guys, hope to catch them again next time they’re through.

More cowbell!
