The Jellyfish Blues Band at The State Theatre

Saturday, December 28th, 2002

That was a fun show. Robbie was decked in his finest SpongeBob T-shirt, and they were in good form. Kevin Gallagher was an excellent player (except when his string broke, and he was off to the side frantically putting in a new one); he had some superb solos during “Sultans Of Swing”. By “Sneaking Sally Through The Alley”, there were a fair number of people down front dancing, and Julie’s rendition of “Love Me Like A Man” brought the house down.

Setlist

Lots of new songs – I like Independence, Indiana and Fly more every time I hear them, but I think my favorite moment was during Robbie’s encore, when Storm and Richard from Da Vinci’s Notebook wanted to trade Bernie for Mike Clem and “$200, no make that $400”.
